what is the correct way to test compression? Crank the motor at wideopen throttle for 5 compression strokes or till the needle stops increasing?

I usually crank the car 7 or 8 times.Or untill compression stops increasing majorly

at normal operating temps, pull the sparkplugs and either pull the fuel pump relay or what i do is just unplug the injector clips. put the pressure gauge in the spark plug hole, make sure it reads 0, then crank it over. i crank 7 times, but some people do like 5. make sure you are keepin the car at wot while you are cranking. very good that you are checking before using forced induction.

5 or 7 times around could be a difference of 40 psi. so then would you go with the 7 times around number?
