Compression, engine question...
I did the compression on my b18c1 and the numbers were as follows: 150, 150, 150, 148. So on the low end to say the least. So I called my mechanic to get a leak-down done. I go down he tells me that the numbers are low but because they are consistent, my engine is fine and I don't need a leak-down. Probably need a partial/full rebuild in 75k to 100k. So I'm like oh by the way I drove from LA to SF and burned up 2 qts of oil. He says it's probably not my compression, valves, guides or rings it's something else. So he checks around my engine and looks at my oil pan and notices that there is a small leak, and the oil plug is this temporary rubber screw plug. He tells me to get a new oil pan, plug, washer, gasket, and I'll be good. This guy has worked a all my cars and has always done super work, been super honest, but he's thrown me for a loop on this one. Am I missing something here? Can I really lose that much oil from a small leak in the oil pan? Could that be causing my compression numbers to be that low?
Other notes: No other leaks anywhere in the engine, spark plugs are on the whiter side with no deposits. No oil in the plug area. Vtec is lagging but engaging.
I bought my own leak-down tester anyways and will be doing one soon. Just ordered my new oil pan, gasket, washer.
Thanks in advance!

Affect compression? No. Your engine is old and tired. Can you loose that much? Yes. Do what he tells you. If it is a temp plug then it's TEMPORARY and you are crazy to be using it for any length of time.
