Cometic Headgasket instillation necessities: What NEEDS to be done?
Im going to be installing a new cometic head gasket on my motor, the motor is still in the car, and I know for sure the head will be resurfaced, but is it COMPLETELY necessary to deck the block as well. Im only concerned because I have a limited amount of time I can be without a car, and this HAS to be done. So I need to know if I need to remove the engine from the car in order to get it decked or not.

you can check the block yourself with a straight edge while its still in the car. usually the block is ok unless some carnage took place of some sort. as far as installing a new gasket just be sure to tighten to proper torque and sequence.
