ok guys well recently when i turn on my car in the morning or after its been sitting for over an hour, the start up is a bit weird. I have noticed that in the past month or so my gauge cluster lights flicker at times and one of my friends told me the other day that my tail lights looked dimmed.

When i start the car it hesitates to idle unless i give it some gas for about 2 seconds. Typically at start up the idle would jump to about 1200 rpm until the car warmed up for about a minute and then go down to normal (900rpm),

I was told by a friend that it was my alternator or battery but i just want to see what anyone else thought it might be. I am going to replace the alternator and battery since i have a spares laying around but wonder if there is anything else i should check. The car is a 2000 ebp si with a jdm gsr motor. I recently replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs. and spark plug wires but the problem was occurring before i replaced these parts.

 

ok guys its been a while since i posted but i really need some input. I ended up changing out the alternator and battery but nothing changed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Check you main power and ground connections, don't just eyeball them, remove/clean/reattach. 94

 

I did but nothing has changed. I going to pull my IACV off and clean it. I have been running a velocity stack with no filter for quite some time and figure dirt may be clogging the screen.
