Now correct if I'm wrong. When your motor is cold your idle goes from 800 RMP to 1500 RMP then back to 800 RPM correct? Then it goes back to normal when the engine is warmed up? If so, It sounds like a vaccuum leak is occurring. A quick way to verify this is but plugging the throttle body by simply covering it with hand. Of coure do this with the motor cold. If the vehicle still idle, then this verify the vaccuum leak. Next, get a can of brake clean and spray on the intake manifold gasket area and vaccuum hoses. List for an RPM change over the area that you spray brake clean on.

Well...The reason I ask if your idle does not act up once the motor is warmed up - because it maybe a intake manifold. So, if you idle acts up only when it's cold and then goes away once it's warm - Then your problem is a vaccuum leak at your intake manifold.
The reason that it only acts it's becuase metal expand and once its was up metal contracts.
