Code 54 - CKF Sensor

Code 54 - CKF Sensor
I have a 97 Honda Civic that is putting out a Code 54 (Crankshaft Fluctuation Sensor) error. Does anyone know if there is any danger in letting this ride for awhile? What is involved in replacing this part? Should I let a professional fix it or do it myself? (I have limited experience working on cars.) Any information on this would be appreciated.
