code 22, how to fix????
can someone tell me how to fix the code 22 (vtec malfunction)..what can be the cause of this???? BTW: i have a 97 gsr motor in a 92 civic si....thanks
When I got a VTEC solenoid code, it was because the wire had pulled out of the bottom of the VTEC solenoid. Just check all the connections over, reset the ECU, and try again. If it comes on again first try plugging in a different ECU to see if it's a computer problem.
you may have crossed the VTEC solenoid wire and the VTEC oil pressure swith wire
trace it back to the ECM
just look it over
TECH TIP
apply +12V on the green wire of the VTEC solenoid; if the solenoid clicks, you have a signal (electrical) problem possibly open/short circuit
hope this helps good luck

22 is the vtec pressure switch....pull the plug off and check for continuity between the pins of the switch....if none = bad switch....if some= bad wiring
