Default Clutchmasters Stage IV

I have the Stage 4 from Clutchmasters, had it brand new mated to the Clutchmasters 7.5lb flywheel.

I've put just about 1000 miles on it now, and all of a suddent, the clutch gets much harder to press from mid-point until all the way down. It's about twice as hard to press down as it used to be up until tonight.

I've been pretty easy on the clutch so I'm wondering if this is normal or not.

I had a similar problem like that with my ACT stage3 clutch mated to a 7.5lb flywheel. Everything was gravy for the first 2000 miles or so and then one day it got stiff. It stayed like that for a few weeks then it got noticebly soft. Then everytime I get out of First gear...there was this screeching/slipping noise. Guess what happened? I recently took apart my tranny and found my flywheel had HOTSPOTS all around the area where the clutch disc mates with the flywheel. I dont want to spread rumors, but I think it was because my flywheel was too light to handle my b20vtec setup. I asked a at friend at KG Racing in Huntington Beach, CA and he recommended going with a 12.5lb flywheel for my setup. I am not sure what your setup is but it must be pretty serious business to be using a stage 4 clutch.

Yea it's a B20Vtec, see my sig for the list.

I'm hoping its not because I drove the car too hard during the break-in..

a flywheel being to light has nothing to do with your engine. its your driving style. no matter how light the flywheel is your driving style will depect if your flywheel will have hotspots or not.

regarding the pedel being stiff. the only thing i could figure out is the clutch slave cyl ball that touches the clutch fork gets all gummed up and needs to be cleaned and regreased.
