Clutch Stages and Drivability VS Performance
Its time for a new clutch and i currently have the ACT Street Disc with a Comptech Aluminum fly wheel. I was thinking to going to a ACT 4 or 6 pad disc. I have been told that a 4 or 6 pad will have firm engagement because there are no springs on it like the Street Disc. Some people say that 4 or 6 disc's are not drivable as a daily drivers. I have also been told that they make noise. Does anyone have a 4 or 6 pad that can tell me the differences.

i used to run a 4 puck unsprung...its literally a light switch....on or off...if you wanted to move slowly you have to rev higher and slip it....kinda hard to do but you get the hang of it...
a 4 puck sprung could be dd...i mean i was a delivery driver w/ what i had...its all comfort level...btw chics hated my car because of the rough ride ;-)

nothing...overboosted...toasted my motor....so back to a stocker for me :-/
but started w/ a kevlar disk w/ stronger pp > went to 4puck unsprung > was about to go to a 4 puck sprung disc this season...but blew her up so time to move onto a bike

From what I've heard the light-weight aluminum flywheels with the pressed gear rings can explode under certain conditions due to the two different expansion coefficients. So if you have the two-piece pressed flywheel I'd get rid of it and opt for a 1-piece chromoly flywheel with milled teeth.
About the clutch... Check this out...

Look at the clutch hard-line eliminator. Supposedly it relieves some of the clutch pressure at the pedal but not on the actual clutch. Never tried it. Worth a gander for 75 bucks. I wanted to get one for my ****.

LOL, Comptech is a good company with quality products so I don't think his flywheel will be exploding any time soon.
As far as clutches, with your mods a 4 or 6 puck disc, sprung or un-sprung, is serious overkill (our stage 2 for B series will hold around 350whp). I would stick with a sprung hub disc with either organic or kevlar linings.
