How do i tell when my Clutch Master or Slave Cylinder is gone bad?

when either is leaking or the clutch won't engage.

the clutch master some times you will see fluid dripping from the firewall onto the bottom of the carpet kind've were the dead petal and the clutch petal are, and the slave don't know i guess when the fork for the throw-out bearing don't engage
