I am thinking of replacing my stock cluch. What would you guys recommend to get? Which brand and type? I have 99 GSR.

Thanks.

I upgraded my LS clutch to a Type R clutch and flywheel. The lighter flywheel took some getting used to, about 3 days. But I love this combination. It bolted up without any problems.

where did you get your ITR clutch and flywheel from and how much was it? Also, could you tell a big difference in the weight between the two and how fast you engine revs, now?

I got it from a dealer in Jacksonville because I get a 10% discount for being a member of Acura Club. I think it was somewhere around $615(before discount) for everything(pressure plate, throwout bearing, disc, flywheel w/ pilot bearing. My LS flywheel weight about 22 lbs and the Type R weights 17 lbs it did change my how much I hit the gas when downshifting. It does go through 2nd gear a lot faster now. I don't have any numerical proof just the seat-of-pants.

Do you ever have any problems starting your car......or does the Type R flywheel match up pretty good to the b18b starter?

According to my mechanic it bolted up just like an LS flywheel/clutch. Haven't had a problem starting it yet. I've got about 3K miles on it so far. The catch point is identical to my old clutch setup. I had 130K miles on that clutch and it was the original one. The only reason I replaced it was I didn't need the car for a few days and it had 130K on it.

I really like my ACT clutch setup. It will hold anything I throw at it, and at $375 suggested retail, it's cheaper than the OEM ITR setup.
good luck,
Jared
