Civic AT transmission problem!
I'm having transmission issues with my 92 Civic w/automatic tranny. If i drive it regularly then it's fine, but when you try to accelerate or floor the gas then the rpm just climbs. The manual said to check for low fluid but I've already done that and the fluid is within specs. Anyone ever delt with this kind of thing on an automatic transmission before? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
did you drain the atf fluid and if you did was there any metal in the fluid? if so it could be clogging the strrainer. also your clutches could be worn. your oil pump could also be bad. in all cases i would start looking for a new tranny if the fluid id new (pinkish red in color)
HEY MAN WUT UP CHECKS THIS OUT WELL FOR ONE THING THIS DUDE UP HERE ON TOP OF ME IS WRONG WHEN THE TRANNY FLUID IS A PINKY REDISH COLOR DOES NOT MEAN UR TRANNY IS GOING OUT IT MEANS THAT ITS GETTING TO DAMN HOT ESPECIALLY IF UR A RACER U SOULD OF KNOWN THIS U GONNA NEED A TRANNY COOLER (has a auto tranny in his car)IF U DONT KNOW WUT THAT IT IS SMALL RADITOR LOOKING THING THAT U CAN GET A JUNK YARD OR A ANY AUTOPART STORE NEAR U WELL IF U HAVE ANYQUESTION EMAIL ME AT CHORIZO4RMDTOWN@yahoo.com.
Sorry this car is just my daily driver..I don't have any intention of "Racing" it! I've looked into the filter problem but it seems too hard to change because you have to take almost the whole tranny apart just to get to the filter. Anyone else delt with this slipping problem?
