I have a 96 civic and I dont know if this is normal on the car or not but the dipstick on the tranny is loose if I pull it out it acts as if it sits there and I know it shouldnt be normal because theres fluid stains on the sides so it could be gushing out as im driving is there a way to fix it rather then taping it down lol

Mine isn't snug like the oil dipstick. It just sits in the hole and fit over the groove on the tranny I've driven it 5 years and no leak. As long as you dont see it jumping out or wobbling I think you should be fine.

Overfilling an auto trans is bad news, bad enough it is usually the only thing stamped on the stick besides "full"!

Dump some fluid or vac it out until it is at the right level and you probably won't spew anymore out (the stick tube).

The rubber seal shrinks and wont seal, buy a new dipstick from Honda. They're around $16 from what I remember.
