Default check engine light on when Vtec engages

The check engine light comes on after i do Vtech a couple of times and stays on untill i shut off the car and restart it. When i restart it it goes off! does anyone know whats wrong?
This only happend when I changed my oil
i used mobile1 super synthic blend 5w30

Good chance its an oil pressure if it only comes on when it comes on when it hits vtec. Get the code though and that will tell us for sure.

i get this too after i engage vtec once in a while...
code i get is 12 and 14... i think its because i didnt hook up my EGR vaccum into the TB... and their aint enough lift... forgot what the other code is telling me but

dont spell VTEC, (V-tec or V-tech), i did this the other day and still get ripped on, just thought i would let you know.

ok i tried to check for a code but it didnt' give me any?
could it be the oxygen sensor?

Sounds like the VTEC oil pressure switch. Do you have a V-AFC?

i checked it by looping the terminals at the passanger side of the car with a paper clip... o o o like that? did i do it right? then i put it to the on position.

my check engine light only goes on when i vtec it in 3rd gear then if i shut the engine off and turn it back on, it's gone

Are you jumping the 2pin connector, or the 3 pin connector?

Jump the 2-pin connector, that should work a little better.

Ok i got the codes
it went 6 short times
then 7 short times
then 1 long time
then 1 long one again
and 1 short one

06 Engine Coolant Temp circuit ?
07 Throttle Position circuit Reading too low or too high, open or short in circuit, defective TPS circuit ?
21 VTEC Solenoid Valve Open or short in VTEC solenoid valve circuit, defective VTEC solenoid valve ?

do i replace all of those?

Check out your O2 sens. .. also sumtimes sensors fry outta nowhere so check all your comp. stuff out and get back to us.. cheers
