Check Engine : Code 7 On My CRX
Hey guys
a couple of months ago my car was throwing ecu code 7 (tps sensor) so i replaced it with another used one i got off a buddy.
well now it is happening again, so i called around and its a dealer only part and the dealer wants close to 600 bucks (canadain) for it. Im selling the car soon so i obviously dont want to spend 600 on a little part
is their anything that can be done to fix this part? any suggestions, comments, or screw offs will be greatley considered
(ive heard i can tune the tps sensor with a volt meter or somthing? dunno how true this is)
Thanks Guys/Gals
The car is a 1988 honda crx dx (5spd)
all stock

Tell the dealership to **** off.... $600 for a TPS.. If you have a local junkyard near you then just take a cordless dremel tool with a cutoff disk and slot the rivets to pull out with a slot head screwdriver... Good luck
yah dealerships suck
do u think i shoudl just put another used one on?
the last one i got was from a buddy who owns his own compnay and does engine swaps. he had some old ones lying around
is their any way to fix it?

Same problem, dealership wants 800 dollars for an EF throttle body, i told the parts man to take that TB and shove it where the sun dont shine, ******* ripoff
There's no way to fix it as it is an electrical part. The tuning I believe you are referring to when using a voltmeter is when you are installing a TPS. You have to get it in a specific position for it to work correctly and that has to be done using a voltmeter. I just replaced mine and got one off of eBay for $12.00 US. Labor must be crazy expensive in Canada.
