That's what you want. Heat that leaches out of the header is a bad thing. BTW, you can also ceramic coating for stainless steel. Best bet is to wrap your header with header wrap and stainless steel clamps. Beware though, if you do not have a true stainless steel header, condensation may form in the header when it cools and create rust which would ultimately eat through your header.

DC Sports website even states that the ceramic headers are made with a milder grade steel. The stainless headers are made of higher quality stainless steel, and if you don't like the polished bling bling look, go for the brushed one.

I'm not questioning their steel, my header isnt broken, and i've hit many things with it ... But the coating is going.

I have a new dc 4-1 ceramic header. I like the look and ground clearance isn't bad unless your car is slammed. It holds up good, but I have seen one that is a few years old and the ceramic coating looks nasty. Never seen em rust though. The thing holds in heat great. You can damn near touch it with the car at temp.

Yes. There are a number of coating service companies like Swain Tech (sp?) who do ceramic coating as well as other types of coatings.
