CEL Light Socket issues?
I recently purchased a 97 CX civic. the car is decent but I recently realized that the CEL bulb does not light up and I need it to light up on ignition in order for it to pass the smog inspection. I tried rotating the working bulbs into the CEL socket and nothing. I got another cluster(EX) and the same issue happens. I've tried buying a new bulb from autozone and I get nothing. The way I see it either both cluster have a bad CEL socket or maybe there is a wiring issue? Anybody ever had an issue with this before?
Thanks in advance

So I hooked up my wife's CRV cluster and I still had no CEL light. So it turns out that there might be a fuse problem or a wiring issue. Anybody have any info on what could cause the CEL to be cancelled out or not work?
sounds like someone before you had a problem and cut the cel wire so they wouldn't have to stare at a cel all the time. Seems now it's time to do some wire chasing.
I was afraid of that. I didn't know there was one specific cable that leads to the CELs function. a buddy of mine was saying that maybe my ecu was going bad but don't get you get other issue with that?
when the ecu goes bad, it will either throw a solid cel that is on 100% of the time, of a code zero which means no cel at all. usually a code zero will throw the cel on though when the service connector is not jumped, and no cel when the service connector is jumped. no cel ever is usually a cut or broken wire. and yes, it's one single wire from the ecu to the dash cluster plug who's only function is to illuminate the cel.
