CEL code 3 (map sensor) HELP!
For about 2 months now i go out and start my car (90' DA b20b obd0) and it starts just fine when cold but once after i drive a good 20-30 or more minutes i shut off the car and go back out to start it. After i start it, it sounds like its missing horribly and smokes heavily (lot of un-burnt fuel) then all the sudden after a few seconds it seems to run normal, no CEL. I check my ecu and see its showing 3 long flashes (map sensor). It has gotten worse over time. Just tonight i go out and try to start it up and its acting up alot worse than before, tonight it actually threw a CEL and its showing 3 blinks again. When i started it up tonight it was in no way drivable, roaming idle and missing.
I have replaced o2 sensor, fuel filter, been through 2 map sensors. Checked for vacum leaks, re-set my ecu, nothing has helped. I honestly dont know what to do next. I gues ill try to switch out ecu's hoping that might be it. I also will try to recheck my map sensor wiring. Any chance of my SAFC gen.1 might be bad?
Any help at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Man **** im out a ******* car....

check your SAFC...that runs your map sensor too, see if it has the correct settings, because i know the that if its on the wrong setting, it could blow up your map sensor, (from experience)LOL...map is also bad if you got really poor gas mileage, ie no more than 100 per full tank, if that at all...SAFC is not wire it up and run like the VAFC, because the SAFC is use for multiple cars unlike the VAFC is for honda and acuras only...if you know how to play with your SAFC..I would check that too...
Well one problem fixed, my AFC was to blame, actually me. The Sensor type screen i exited under "Flap" highlighted, it needed to be under "pressure", hints the map sensor reads the preasure. Well no more CEL when i start the car and idles like it should. But my i still idle like **** (missing) once it reaches normal temp. and i go out and start it up again. I guess ill live with it for a while. Im just glad my bucket is back on the road.
So methanemotorworks you are actually right, i had the incorrect map sensor type. Thank you.
