I'm puzzled.

Last week, my car ('00 R) went into limp mode, I drove it home and checked the CEL code with a paperclip. Weird, ABS flashes "81", anybody know what this means?

Later on, I started it up to see if it would drive to the dealership. I let it idle for 2 or 3 minutes and the engine just sputters out. *Point of mass confusion*. Trying it again, it only holds up for about 5 seconds, then gave out.

I'll tow it to the dealership ASAP, but I just want to find out what that code is to make sure it's nothing simple.

**If it matters at all, I had an earthing system installed a week and a half before the incident, or...I don't think it would matter...

There are no major modifications, just a catback and CAI, car has about 38,000m on it. I can't think that there would be any other variables..
