Default cars messed

ok i wrecked my car a few weeks ago and it overheated and surged. i got it backtoday ,and all the body work is done and it doesnt overheat anymore. however it still surges bad and i duno what the problem is. all the lights flash dim-bright-dim-bright. and the idle surges a little too. does anyone have any suggestions on how i may be able to fix this myself, or should i just take it to a shop and get themt o fix it? and also, how do i check for codes telling me why my check engine light is on?

check the speedo cable for the speedometer ... and the surgeing bleed the engine i bet the guy that installed the radiator didnt bleed the air out of the block and that would be the problem ... and just reset the ecu and you should be fine

if it is being covered by the insurance company then i would tell them to deal with it
