I have an 84 prelude and it won't stay started when I first start it at the beginning of the day. It starts and sputters at low RPM's and cuts off, but it if had been started within the last hour it starts. However, it will idle very low and the go up to normal. If i start it when its cold i can hold my foot on the gas until it gathers steam and it will stay started. What could it be?

 

i dunno much about 84 but check your Idle air control to see if it works..thats all i can think of.
