Default car no starting. ls/vtec. ignition problem.

Just finished my ls vtec. i changed the coil because the car would not start. i heard that they can get fried if you timing belt snaps. i got a different coil and it still doesnt start everything is pluged in correctly. im using a 2000gsr head on a 94 ls block. i have an obd1 to obd2b conversion harness with a skunk2 chipped ecu. motor turns over and gets fuel but no spark. my next guess is the iginitor. the ignitior has somethin like 3 or 4 plugs on it none of which are grounds i dont think. my friend used gsr and ls parts in the distributor and he had to make it so the ignitor was out of the way. does the ignitor have to be screwed to the distributor so that the little plate acts as a ground? becuase we didnt use that little metal plate/mount thing. Or should i just get a new ignitor because that peice was also in my car the timing belt broke and i heard that it can also fry it self if the timing belt breaks or jumps a tooth.

yes you have to ground the ignitor with that place it attaches to, if not, the car will not start

im pretty sure there is a plate that the ignitor attaches to, maybe that wire is not providing enough ground like that plate

i used my neighbors olld school multimeter that only has an ohm x 1k setting so i didnt really know how to read it. anyways i touched it to the primary and secondary of the coil on the secondary read anything it said a little bellow 2 the primary didnt even move the needle. im gonna go sears and buy a good digital one and try again.
