Car hesitates and loses throttle control
I just bought this car and it has a strange issue, if somebody knows anything that could help please share.
1997 ek hatchback with a 99 gsr engine obd2 p72 ecu
Issue: very boggy and hesitant around 2-3k rpms
Replaced map sensor, fuel filter, and tps sensor, checked voltages to the 3 tps wires. Replaced spark plugs, distributor cap, wires.
-only CEL codes for evap emissions
-losing coolant, possibly burning. about 0.5-1.0L every 350k ish. weird thing is I pressure tested it about 2 weeks ago and the cooling system held the pressure.

Not sure on the specifics (not familiar with Honda systems just yet). But you should be able to sheck the resistance values of the TPS at the terminals while it's still on the vehicle. As you operate the throttle the resistance should increase and or decrease (not sure which) from just off idle to the open throttle position and vice versa. If the ohmeter shows a discrepancy when the throttle position is where your problem occurs I'd say that's your culprit. A dead spot on the scrub board makes the computer think that the engine is just idling even though you're on the gas. Part should cost @ $50 - $60 aftermarket.
hold on there. before you jump the gun what exact code was it? purge control? if the purge valve stays open you can have that same exact problem

May be a long shot but :
A friend of mine has a 1999 Honda Accord Type R, Under the nearside dash if you pull back the carpet there is a cluster of wires for the ECU.
They were re-wired badly and every time someone sat in the passenger seat or he hit a bump it caused the car to lose power and act weird.
He spent €400 replacing sensors only to spend a few € on wire connectors and the car now has no issues

had the same problem with my car and it was a crack in the head. eventually i started burning more and more coolant and the car started running way worse and was bogging more as the crack got bigger.
