CAN'T GET LOWER BALL JOINT OFF!!
i had a ball joint that i could not get off. i had the separater fork damaged from all the hammering. finally i had to take a propane torch to heat up the lca and then 1 smack with the hammer and it popped right out.
No way! I swung a hammer for 15 minutes and couldn't bust my LCA ball joint out. This is an easy brains-vs-brawns trick...
Put a jack under the lca and raise it some. Slide an adjustable wrench or something in between the knuckle and CLA. Drop the jack and kick down on your brake rotor (castle nut loosened, don't remove it yet). A good kick or two will get it right out. You should break 0 sweat using this method.

LMAO DAMN i wish i would have thought of that. i **** you not, i spent HOURS over a period of a couple weeks beating the **** out of my separator fork. i had to regrind my fork back into shape several times. i had to get new rotors, cuz after hours of swinging a hammer, you're bound to miss at least once
anyway, after talking to some real old school gear-heads, and after more than one of them suggesting a torch, i gave it a shot. fire will expand that LCA enough to pop the joint out. it worked, but i like the above idea much better.

Those separator forks often times damage the ball joint rather than help. If beating the **** out of it doesnt help, then try getting a long pry bar and wedge it imbetween the knuckle and lca. Pry on it and it will come out with no problems. If that still doesnt work then try an air hammer instead of a big *** hammer. Good luck
boy that is crazy . All i do, let say were removing the passenger side lower ball joint. turn the wheel all the way to the right. get a jack and place it under the rotor and jack it up high, remove the castle nut. smack the lca where the ball joint is, a big hammer should bust it loose after the 2-3 hit. i've down dozens like that with success and no damage.
using the forks suck,
I have always used a BFH, and it has always worked eventually,
sometimes i had to use a Big F#$king Guy with my BFH.
I guess I wasn't hitting it hard enough, but once you flatten your finger once on a spindle, you tend to be little wussier the next time you swing a hammer

haha i took mine off the ohter day when i took my d15 powerplant out and both the ball joints came right off, no hammering or nothing, just lifted them off...... is this bad? they are new last year...
here is a trick you can try. jack up the whole suspension from the lca. wedge a wrench in between the knuckle and the lca. remove the jack. then kick the suspension downward and the wrench will pop the ball joint off. try it out!
... and if that doesn't work a bfh works for everything

that's what they are suppose to do when you remove them. not stuck in the LCA.
