Default B&M FPR with LS/VTEC question

I just finished my LS/VTEC install and it was idling really high (like 2000 rpm). so after adjusting the throttle body screw and retarding the timing a bit, i got the idle to 1500 rpm. then after accidentily pinching the FPR's vacuum line, the idle went down. so, i capped off the vacuum line and now Im running the FPR with no vacuum source. car is running good and not consuming too much fuel. just wondering if i really need a vacuum source on the FPR?? TIA.

The FPR isn't going to work correctly if there isn't a vaccum source.

Have you checked for any other vaccum leaks? Have you turned the t/b screw as much as it will go?

sounds like you have a vaccum leak. the FPR needs a vaccum to work correctly. about the power steering, you need the uppper P/S brackets for the head that you have. Example, if you have a b16 head, you need to get a b16 upper bracket.

quick question... with the vacuum hooked up to the FPR, would fuel pressure go up as more air goes in?

if your boosted it would. its a 1:1 fpr. that means for every pound of boost it sees, its going to raise the fuel pressure 1 psi.
