Default Canadian Civic EX????

What is the difference between a US Civic EX and a Canadian Model EX? my friend says his Canadian Ex has 150hp stock is it true? it looks like a normal US SOHC VTEC engine to me, and if so whats the engine code for a Canadian model so i can see if he really has it or not

Thanxs

I'm not 100% sure on this stuff, but I think it's correct..

the US EX model has the 127hp D16Y8 (SOHC VTEC). While the Canadian EX is basically the American DX (D16Y7 = 106hp)

It should be noted that the American Si is called the SiR model up there. And our EX model is thier Si (they get other stuff, like heated mirrors though). So our DX ends up being thier EX. It's kinda wacky.

A canadian Civic EX does not have 150hp stock....whatta moron. Tell him to go read his engine code.

And yeah the other guy was right, your EX is our Si, and your Si is our SiR
