Default Can you burn out a gauge if....

the gauge receives more OHMs from the sender that it's designed to handle? Or would it just not respond?

more specifically...

0-90 ohm gauge, getting 100ohms.

just wonderin...

ohm is resistance, so if its getting too much resistance, i dont think so. now if it was voltage or current - then a definate YES

Thats what I thought.

I know that voltage won't harm something, its too much current that does. I just wasn't sure if OHM's would do anything...heheh.

(trying to remember high school physics class)...

just curious what kind of gauge is this? all my guages work off of voltages. is this some kind of a/f guage?

BTW it woud be pegged or maybe just off the gauge face which could affect the accuracy of the gauge.

Autometer Fuel Level.

doing a full autometer dash setup...and would like to retain fuel level information. The GM gauge is very close to the output of the factory honda sender, but its backwards...IE reads full at empty, and empty at full...(not a problem really).
