Just wondering if this can be repaired or if i should start looking for a new Block.. Any input would be cool the more detail the better. First hand knowledge would be a big help.

it would take a very good welder with a very good welding machine.

I had the same thing on my JDM B16A. Must've been a left frontal or left fender impact.

Sorry for the blurry picture.

I said "**** it" and bought a B18B for the LS/VTEC.

Since then, I've considered taking it down to the local tech school and having them take a crack at it as a learning project. I'm sure the instructor wouldn't let them **** it up too much, and I would get a finished project back for free.

is the attachment for the crank pulley bent too?

if that is, i say scrap the bottom end and slap a b20 under that head.

i bet you'd say that to most!!!

JK!

seriously, how cheap is a B16A block over there?

would it cost more to weld it properly or what?

have the block crack tested etc, man the whole block could be screwed...

Thanks for all your Input guys... The guy i bought the swap from is going to give me a different block or give me back a few $$ so i can find a good one. I'm kinda hoping he will give me some $$ back so i can find a B20 block we will see. i'll keep you posted.

Keep the info coming in if you have some first hand knowledge the more the better...

Thanks again it has been a big help..

BTW-- the Crank is fine the pully took no hit. The exhuast mani was hit and pushed the hole engine back from there. One Exhuast Mani Stud was broken but that is no big deal.

Later
