Default Can an Alternator kill the car?

Okay, I'm having electrical problems with my car and I was wondering if a bad alternator could completely stop the flow of electricity throughout the car (meaning if the alternator is bad could it stop flow of electricity so that even with a good battery the headlights or radio wont even turn on?)

no the alternator just produces electricity. to put the alternator out of your mind as the problem if your car will start start it and then unplug the alternator. the car will continue to run and your electrical problem will not go away. what is your car doing exactly maybe i can help you.

I just came home from school. My car is not getting electrcity at all. We thought it might be the battery so we connected it directly (via cable) to my uncle's car and even then there was no electrcitiy reaching anything, like the radio and headlights. Fuses dont seem to be the problem, but were gonna check it one more time today.

I would say check all your wiring and go from there. You said that you jumped it and nothing happend. I would start at the battery and fallow the wires around your engine and under the dash. You may want to take a look at your relays aswell sounds kinda like the Main Realy, maybe.

Here's a pic, check out the top of the fuses, there's two metal squares for each contact on each fuse.

YES!!! even if you change the battery all the energy will be drained because of a bad alternator. If you have an Autozone (or pepboys) over there they do free alternator tests. I know the alternator gives problems like this through first hand experience TWICE!!!

Yes your right, if you have a bad alternator your battery will run out of energy because the engine used it all up. If you have a bad alternator you can charge your battery and drive until your battery dies. He puts a charge on his battery and cant even turn on his interior lamps. His alternator maybe bad but there are other issues to deal with first. Main relay.
