Cams
Can anyone recommend a good set of cams for a 1988-91 Civic DX H/B? I will be running at least a 50 shot of NOS, with a possible T3/T4 turbo upgrade in the future...
Also, with the NOS setup on this engine, do I need to run a better set of spark plugs and wires? If so, what plugs and wires would you recommend? I understand from other people on this board that the engine in the 88-91 Civic HB is a weak engine with a weak fuel delivery system.
Would I also have to upgrade the fuel pump as well as fuel injectors? If yes, what pump/injectors would you recommend.
Finally, I am looking for a cold air intake for this car. I tried Injen, DC Sports, etc... No luck... What would you guys recommend? I'd like to hear your success/horror stories.

Wow, I can tell you're a newbie, so I'm gonna try to help you out. If you are seriously going to spend as much $$ on that car to buy a cam, nitrous kit and possibly turbo.. you should start out by ditching that stock motor and doing an engine swap. A ZC or anything B-series would be a good start, and will yield much better gains once you start modding it. I think most others here will agree.

i deffinatly would not run NOS and turbo on a stock civic engine.........you better invest in a complete engine re-build with all new forged pistons and rods for starters......and some full stainless steel intake and exhaust valves.....
as for what cam to use.......with turbo/nitrious i would recommend a high-lift low duration cam. you should look at crane cams or webcams. they might have something good for your application.
as for fuel delivery.......maybe a wlabro 255lph fuel pump with RC injectors.....a proper ECU program and lots of tuning.......
all togeather you will be spending close to 7g's
have fun......

Hey,
If I change the engine to lets say a B18C1 or an H22, would I be able to pull off a turbo nitrous setup with the parts that I mentioned above?

Ok,
So I'm a newbie... I'll admit that...
Why won't it last long? A friend of mine has a turbo nitrous Prelude (H22) and his car runs great...

despite what everyone may think honda engines are not invincible. they can take some abuse but you adding an incredible ammount of cylinder pressure with NOS and turbo. the stock rods will bend or break, or the cylinder walls will crack or warp the head gasket will blow out or you will burn all the valves out of the head.
your freinds car may be running now but if he pushes it to much he will be running into problems soon enough.
all honda engines were designed to run N/A (naturally asperated) which means no turno no nitrous no super chargers......
i'm not saying that you cant make work.......but a stock engine.......a very small 6-8psi turbo will work ok.........or a small 50-75 shot of NOS would be "ok".....both togeather........i highly doubt you will get very far......
