Default cam keeper threads

during a recent head gasket change on my b18b i found that the threads in the head for the number 3 exhaust cam keeper are stripped out for both bolts have tried using a tap and die to clean and fix the threads and also bought new bolts at the hardware store but still wont tighten down any suggetions would be great gas for the fullsize chevy truck is startin to hurt
