Are Cam gears nessary with skunk 2 stage 2 cams. Or with any aftermarket cams. I know if tuned right they help but have the cams now and no money for gears but I want to install them now. will they work with stock cam gears?
please help.

 

Stock cam gears will work. Most guys just want to dial in a little more whps. You only absolutely need them if you've milled the head, then you would need cam gears to properly degree your cams.

 

i would get them, you can only adjust the stock ones so much

Cut and weld?

If you don't have the money now, just get them later. They're not hard to install.

 

I have a portflow head do they mill the head? I don't know if they normaly mill it or not.

you have already spent a pretty penny for those cams. you might as well complete them for another couple hundred bux with new cam gears. im sure there are plenty of used ones for sale in the classifieds.
btw.. your stock gears are fine.
