Default Cam Gear Timing???

How do you know which one (INtake or Exhaust) and how much (degrees) to change? i know you have to retard the timing for nitrous... well either way please share the knowledge.. Thanks!

By using a dyno to see what effect the changes are producing. I also think you may be confusing cam and ignition timing a little.
