Cam Gear install d16z6
heres some pics of my cam gear install might help someone out.
1. first I set at tdc. white marks lined up on the crank shaft.
2. then I loosened the 12mm bolt on the cam gear. use another wrench on the crank pulley to loosen.
3. loosen the tensioner on the timing belt (14mm bolt). and take the timing belt off.
4. had to order a new woodruff key because the one on the stock camgear is welded on its Part # 90741-657-000. you can order from any honda dealership.
5. put the key on with the new cam gear and tighten the cam bolt back up.
6. put the timing belt back on
7. turn the crank bolt (17mm bolt) 3 teeth counter clockwise to tighten the belt back up.
8. tighten the tensioner bolt.
if i missed anything let me know. hope this helps someone!

sounds good to me. check the deflection to make sure it is not too much, and, if it's too tight you tend to hear it when revving, the belt sort-of "whirrs". but, it sounds like you did the tension setting properly.
after the car has been run to temperature a few times i'd double check the torque on the sprocket adjustment screws. before i put those things on i always put some medium strength thread locker on the screws, but whatever.
if the car is cold, when i do a cam gear change i tend to check the valve lash too and adjust if necessary, just because i already am messing with turning the crank, etc.

valve lash is the tiny gap between the rocker arm and the top of the valve. it has to be done cold and with a feeler gauge. if you haven't done it before, if possible i'd suggest doing it with someone who HAS done it so you can understand what kind of drag you are supposed to see with the feeler, how to tighten the lash adjuster nut down without screwing up the freshly set lash, etc.
