D16z6 timing belt installation line up help.....
help im installing a new timing belt on my d16z6 engine.
the problem is that i am having is that i don't know how to get it cam at the mark and also the crank at the mark at the same time getting the belt tension.
the stupid cam gear moves or the crank gear. i need hellp.. and also how much tension does the belt has to be.
i pryed the tensioner and then tried locking down the nut. the tensioer spring seems to be slighty loose also when tight. wtf???
the cam gear and slightly the crank gear goes out of wack if i try to set tension.
how do i set tension.
need help.

Re: D16z6 timing belt installation line up help.....
ok i have VERY good luck doing the following.
get all matks lined up, put a BOX end wrench on cam gear bolt, and put socket on crank bolt, Turn both in direction of firewall. lock down tensioner. done
its been a yr or so since i did one and i am going off memory on this, i amm 99% sure this is what i did. once you lock tensioner bolt tight turn motor over secer FULL turns checkin belt tension on long (front) side, also off memory deflection should be around 1/2" or so, but you should refer to the haynes/helms manual for specs
