Cam Dynamics and Valve Float
For my Dynamics of Rigid Bodies class [ME2202] we have to do a reserach project on something that interests us and has some aspect of Kinetics/Kinematics to it. I was originally thinking of doing mine on the origin of horsepower or power loss through a gear box, but I'm sure I'm going to do it on cam theory.
The project is due the first week of December, and it will be available online...just thought I'd let anyone interested in that sort of stuff know. I'll post back occasionally to this thread, updating and possibly searching for tidbits of knowledge. My dynamics teacher did some R&D for Crane Cams, working with Jerk/Lift curves and stuff...pretty interesting, so I'm sure I'll be drilling him for knowledge as well.
