Burning oil?

Burning oil?
I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX Coupe 2.4L 5 speed trans. I recently after a major service done by my Honda Dealer started burning oil. Got low enough that the oil light came on briefly. Filled oil to level and did an oil change same day. I did perform the oil change before having the major service done so the Honda dealer had instructions not to change it.
Is this common for the model at 125,000 miles on the engine. Religously change the oil and use synthetics. Most of the time use 87 octane fuel. ??? Note: The tech who performed the service left some things disconnected but not sure if that would cause oil consumption. Specifically the "air flow chamber" was left venting into the engine compartment. Here is a pic (hopefully)

Re: Burning oil?
burning oil usually means some seals or something have gone bad. what color is the smoke? does it smoke while u drive? just when u start up? just when u take off or idle?
if someone did work on my car and it started acting funny after i picked it up from them, then i would take it back to them.

Black smoke out of tailpipe! Only under load though. At idle seems normal! The next step will be to take it back to the Dealer though. To tell you the truth I am not sure what they really did or didn't do. From the looks of things they just flushed the coolant system! I believe they may have changed the transmission fluid too. The reciept isn't specific on what the Tech actually did, it just shows pricing for labor and parts.

Re: Burning oil?
That being disconnected will not cause the kind of oil loss you are describing. That can set a CEL but not always. You say burning oil? How do you know? Since you changed the oil that day how much oil have you added to maintain the proper level? ANything over 1 quart per standard oil change interval 3-5k is too much. Has the PCV valve ever been changed?
