A friend of mine has a 88-91 Si tranny that i am interested in buying for my z6 swap. The only problem is that he said one of the axles is stuck in the tranny. Is it fixable? Sorry i dont remember which side, but does that matter for the help? If so i will ask him tomorrow when i talk to him about buying the z6 motor from him.

 

Is this a Prelude Transaxle? If so the axles are held in with a snap ring, a really big slide hammer should solve the problem. Maybe a 13 lb hammer. Some Honda axles can be a real bitch. The local honda garage often use a Porta Power. Don't know what damage occurs when they are that hard to pull.

 

if the axle won't pop out with just a screwdriver prying against the tranny case, forget it.

Also notice you are in Newark oHIo. I have family in Thornville and Crooksville.

 

is just the tip of the axle in it or the whole end. either way it can come out.

 

i always use my inpact hammer with point on it. try that im sure it will come out
