TRANNY TROUBLE
i was on my way to school this morning and my car just stopped accelerating, my engine revved up to redline and my speddo just started jumping around and going crazy, i replaced both of my axles last weekend, and havent had any troubles, i havent had any problems out of my clutch wither, and when i disengage the clutch the tranny makes this horrible clicking sound like it is seized up, but my dad thinks that somehow when i replace my axles i didnt put something back in right, what do you think i should do about the whole situation?

Re: TRANNY TROUBLE (cfoamcvc)
Well it very well could be that the axles didnt get pushed in all the way.
The larger diameter part of the axle that houses the cv joint should be almost flush with the seal on the tranny.
if one slips out then the teeth grind in the differential.
and the signal to your speedo comes from the diff. gear
you should have to pound the axle in to get it to lock in fully.
I use a in and out motion w/ the cv joint to getting the inner half knocked in.

yeh, but its been almost a whole week since i replaced them, and i drive close to 100 miles a day for my job, so i figure that if it would have happened, it would have been sooner.
