Default Brakes make noise while driving

I need some brake help. While I'm driving my brakes make a scraping sound. I know its the brakes because it gets louder and makes a squeaking sound when I brake. The car seems to stop fine. I haven't been driving my car because I don't want to damage anything, or have them go out.

Check your pads. You might be hearing the wear indicators scraping. They will make noise before the pads are completely shot but are not far off from needing replacement. If you have a ¼ inch or less of pad material left, it's time.

But would it scrape like that all the time tho? Even when I'm not hitting my brakes?

could be bad calipers, they aren't opening the whole way, therefore your brakes are actually one all the time

You sound like you need new pads for sure. That squeaking is just telling you its time for a change. Brake pads arent that much and you can do it yourself. If that doesnt work then you may have other problems like your caliper

Your rotor is probably gone. Does the car shake when you brake?

just get some new pads. you should be able to inspect them in the caliper. if you can remember what a new pad's thickness is, you'll be able to see if you're wearing thin.

it properly is the piston sticking out too much, check the caliper, make sure all the seal is working so it would draw the piston back when the brake is released.

def the pads, change em, the indicators make driving hell if your windows are down. a new set starts at about $20 and its pretty easy to change em
