brake problem need help asap!!!
Ok i just put in integra brake booster and master clyinder on my 91 hatch i have stock size cross drilled rotors and performance pads. i have bled the brakes and master cylinder but when i drive for while the brakes seem to lock up. Now i put washers between the master and the brake booster and they dont lock up anymore but what can i do to fix the problem the correct way as this way seems a little ghetto for now. Anyone have the same problem before?
I think there is some type of adjustment you can make to the pedal. Maybe that is the cause. I did the conversion on my 98 civic w/ 94 teg master/booster and didn't have this problem. Good luck
i have a question, why are you upgrading to an integra MC (master cylinder) and booster? okay well from what I remember with different makes and models the push rod in the MC is sometimes longer or shorter than the original MC, there is a tool, I am not sure if you can buy it at an autoshop, it is shaped like the letter"H" and it is sized to each MC from each manufacturer, that tool pushes inside the vacuum booster to push the brake pedal out ,so you would adjust the screw on the pedal side, either shorten it or lengthen it, and in your case you want to shorten it, if you are not able to get that tool you will just have to make-shift one, like you can insert an pocket screwdriver in the side where the MC would bolt into the booster and push, then on the side where the pedal is you would adjust the pedal screw in our out, gosh its kind of hard to explain, do you have a honda manual? cus if you get like a old skool or any chiltons for hondas it will show you how to adjust the brake pedal free play. you will have to play with it little by little, since you dont know the exact length, so technically you are not adjusting the MC pushrod you are adjusting the pedal pushrod because your MC pushrod is longer than the OEM. even when you buy a remanufactured MC you normally have to adjust that. I hope that is what the problem was and i hope that this did not confuse you more, let me know how it goes good luck
