Default boost, HP, and engine life

All of you that run high PSI boost, how does this effect your engine life/reliability? I had a civic with over 200K and it still ran like the day it was new. I only got rid of it when the body finally gave out. I also wonder if the reliability of factory high performance/lo displacement cars (ie Lancer, WRX) has suffered as compared with their non turbo sisters.

in stock trim they would last as much as their non turbo sisters. Factory makes their engines stronger and the tunning very conservative.
But it's hard to keep a stock turbo car stock, at the end people end up doing things to it. lol

when set up properly should last just as long. I have a Thunderbird turbo motor sitting here that ran 18-19PSI most of its life, it has 160,000 on it and the cyl walls still have the factory cross hatching. This motor had all forged internals too and they look like new. Obviously this is a cast iron block, so aluminim blocks may behave differently but if you build it right.. it will last.
