Default Bent shift rod? (where the bitch pin goes in)

Not sure what you would call that rod(durrr). but ya, mine is noticeably bent. Is it supposed to be like that?

I DO have issues going into/staying in 2nd gear though many other times it works just fine.

Every other gear works NORMALLY with no problems. Is the rod supposed to be off center like that? Doesnt seem right to me.

you can see with a straight line its definitely off center...

and if this is wrong will a BFH work alright to fix it?

thanks

if you hit it with a hammer it will not seal and your tranny fluid will leak out. only way to fix is pull the tranny apart and take it apart then replace it

that rod actually goes into the trans at a slight angle. Its kinda hard to tell from the pic if it is at too great of an angle though. Pull the dust boot off and take another pic. Ive got one torn apart downstairs right now Ill try to take some pics for ya, to show what im talking about.

You could have bent the shift interlock guide, or it could be fine. See if you can shift through every gear. Only way to know for sure is to tear it apart.

if its actually meant to be on an angle i may be ok then..ill shoot another pic.

my o2 was hitting my shift stabalizer bar so that couldve been what was causing my intermittent shift issues into 2nd. im in the process of fixing that issue(+new fluid) so ill see how that goes first before i pull anything apart.

thanks for the help so far
