Battery voltage while running
My batt voltage on hondata s300 is reading 14.xx volts then drops to 12.xx volts and stays there most of the time. Is that normal? When i rev it to 4000 rpm then voltage goes up to 14.xx then drops back down to 12.xx volts as soon as rpm goes down
Its a b16a on a 96 civic chassis

Completely normal for a standard dual mode Honda alternator that features a low output and a high output mode.
No parts store has the capacity to test Honda alternators accurately, you have to test it yourself.

Yes it might be the dual output mode.not too many topics online about the dual output mode not even in the repair manual book thats why i want to hear some opinions. Thanks for the confirmation
I just see the dash lights dimming a little bit when i go on and off throttle but not that bad. I just thought that the voltage changing from 14v to 12v was causing my weak acceleration when im driving my car for around 30 minutes and it loses throttle response and acceleration
Can't hurt to have the charging system checked out, most batt./alt shops will do that for free, a proper load/gravity check will be done for free a Interstate Batteries for free and takes a few min. 94
