B18a1 wiring help.
I'm using a b18a1 OBD1 in a buggy I'm making. What wiring do i need to get it running? I don't have an ignition switch to use so I will have toggle switches. I have the harness whole harness out of the car and ecu. I'd like to use the least amount possible.
Thank you
Thank you
For it to run properly you'll need to wire in most things. There really isn't much in the way of emissions specific stuff with OBD1. You can leave out the evap purge solenoid though.
I want to use the whole engine harness. I have the whole harness out of the car. From headlights to both fuse boxes. I have the whole interior harness. I just wanted to know if I have to have the whole interior harness because wires split in 2 directions from the ecu.
You shouldn't need anything off the interior section of the harness. It's almost easier to grab a '96 - '98 engine harness and swap some connectors and the ECU plugs though where they're already a one piece harness back to the ECU and they unplug from the cabin harness.
You will need some of the interior harness, all ign. switch wiring, even if using toggles, you will need PGM-Fi Main Relay and it's wiring, most wiring to under dash fuse box.
I would just use the complete interior harness and then remove what you do not need, stereo wiring, door lock/dome light wiring, heater/air wiring if your not installing a heater, you will not need any seat belt warning wiring, signal light/hazard light wiring if not installing sig./hazard lights.
You said head lights, but are you installing tail/brake lights? 94
