Battery relocation / Bottle placement questions
Forgive me if this sound like a noob question...I....am...a....noob
I am about to relocate the battery in my prelude, I was going to mount it in the trunk right behind the rear seats. A battery box will be required when i go to the track right? Can anyone reccomend a good one to look at?
Also, I will be placing my nitrous bottle next to the battery box, they will both be behind a thin, false carpeted panel, hidden from view.
Is this a good idea to put the battery and bottle so close together?
Could my NaWwWwWz blow me up like in the movie?!?!?
I'm being sarcastic, but I do want to know if maybe that is not a good idea.
Also, if anyone has any pics of their bottle placement, or battery location pictures, please post them up!
Thanks guys

I think if you're racing in most classes the battery has to be quickly accesable... Or maybe you can get away with a kill switch mounted externally....
I don't think it's the best idea to have the nitrous next to the battery...
I'd look for another spot.

If you can afford it, a fab shop can weld in a box in the trunk of your floor complete with external venting, and airtight lid. you could even have them wire in a kill switch under your bumper. The battery will be invisible (under the tunk mat) and legal. it will also get it away from your nitrous tank(not good in a crash)
damn, this is looking to be a lot more work then i thought (dont they all turn out that way?).
perhaps I will not relocate my battery then..

buy a gel cell battery, optima etc.. and mount it behind the pass seat. Good place to mount it for weight distribution, well it is in my civic anyways. I'm pretty sure that if your battery is one of the gel cell ones and you have a good hold down for it you won't need external venting to pass tech. not sure though. just a thought
