ball joint removal ....HELP needed

Default ball joint removal ....HELP needed

last night, the castle nut on my lower ball joint came off while driving and the entire knuckle assembly came out and left the wheel pointing in it own direction and lodged aganist the fender. good thing i wasnt goin fast or i would have lost it can god know what would have happened.

anyway no damage just that the threads on the ball joint were totaled. so i bought one today but i cant get the old one out. here is what i got, a friend lent me this tool on the left but i dont know how to use it if to use it on the at all .....

how do i take off my ball joint?

oh and b4 i forget, when i am setting the timing on the SOHC vtec fo i line up the mark (shown in green) with the pointed in blue or the cut out in red ?

take the rubber boot off, some hondas have a c-clip and if so remove, lay the knuckle on the ground and hit the end of the ball joint the castle nut goes on with a good sized hammer. they come out fairly easy.
