Default Bad Tranny Noise.......

I was thinknig it was throw out bearing, but I dobut it. Maybe pilot ebaring? anwyays, you be the judge.

yesterday iw as driving and when I shfited from 1st to second at like 4 grand it made this semi high pitched grinding scratchnig noise in between the shifting(when clutch was in) I was thinking, uh oh ****.. then as more driving, I notice it would make the sound when i downshift and on the downflow in 2nd and 3rd it makes the noise soemtiems as well, don't think it matters waht rpm i's at. sometiems it wont' do it at all. then I noticed it queitly made that noise when I accelerated sometiems as well. what the deal! it's getting worse tho for sure as I didn't notice it till late yesterday night. then today i noticed it the whole time here and there. I it doesn't make the nosie at the very beginning when the tranny was still cold... any ideas??

Look underneath your car and see if your gearbox is loosing oil. I threw my main shaft bearing and it made noise like you describe.

alright I'll check today. but how would it lose oil due to a bad bearing? or do you mean the bearing went becasue there was no tranny oil

oil leak would be due to main shaft bearing destroying the main shaft seal. since you're not leaking any oil, I would suspect your pilot bearing.
