Default Backfiring question

is backfiring through the exhaust during deceleration normal in an SiR? what causes it? is this a serious problem?

I have a jdm b16a hydro and it does the same thing .... only when I down shift though ....... anybody know anything about this is it normal ?

Most cases, it's just unburned fuel your hearing in the exhaust system igniting...

Pull your plugs and check the color, too make sure your not running rich.

Another possiabilty is an injector hanging, and allowing fuel into the system, after the ECU has shut them down, do to rpm dropping, ect...

I think it's just back-pressure. Usually back firing indicates bad comp., but there really isn't anything to compress with the throttle closed.
