Default dyno#'s vs et#'s

I recently strapped my ho down on the dyno and she put down 139.8/120. I took her to the track and I could only get 16.2 @ 84. I think I should of done alot better than that. I got great wheel spin all the way to 5K and seemed like a solid run to me. My 60' was 2.39. Most stock ls's average 16 @ 87. I was thinking, should I go back to another dyno to confirm the original #'s, Is it possible for dynos to be incorrect?

I have a 99 GS with crane cams, aem FPR, K&N drop in, and ITR cat-back.

BTW, there are some discrepencies at what the FPR was set at when it was on the dyno. The operator told me it was at 38 psi, which I assumed he meant max psi. After I took the vacuum line off it was at 46. However, with the line on, it is at 38. It seems to run best at 46 max psi.

it's all in the launch........and traction.....if your spinning alot off the line then you should try sttting your launching RPM lower. also make sure you have some pretty good sticky tires up front or lower your tire pressure.

how do you like the crane cams? hows the idle? power?

Ya, but if Iam spinning them too much, my trap speed should be higher. In my opinion, my 60' time doesn't suggest that Iam spinning too much. Again, Iam comparing my times to a stock ls.

My idle is good. As for power, obviously iam questioning that. Although, at times the car seems quite strong.

Thats pretty odd. Seams like most LS I have seen with those numbers are running around the 15/14 boarder.

Are you shifting right before the fuel cuttoff? Do you shift pretty fast?

118hp/103tq D15 will run 15.08 IF you have traction.

Looks like major issues are driver and/or traction.

Iam a decent driver. I guess what I really want to know, is it possible that a dyno will give out incorrect #'s?

A 2.39 60 ft is almost a sure sign of needed practice, needed better traction, bad track prep, or something. That is the reason for your slow time. Obviously the weight of the car is a factor, but 2.2s shouldn't be a problem. That should take you down to at least a 15.9 or 15.8. I don't think the Dyno is wrong.
